TheCompTIA i-Net+ certification is a vendor-neutral
exam that validates a baseline of technical knowledge of Internet web design, Intranet,
Extranet and e-commerce technologies.
The CompTIA i-Net+
exam is specifically designed to certify Internet and e-commerce technical
professionals responsible for positions in the maintenance of Internet, Intranet
and Extranet infrastructure and services, as well as the development of
Web Design related applications.

The
CIW Master Designer program consists of a series of 3 courses,
each representing a different Internet job role. The prerequisite course is
completion of the CompTIA i-Net+ exam or the CIW Foundations
exam. The 2nd and 3rd course requirements are the Site Designer and E-Commerce
Designer exams.
Job responsibilities of the Site
Designer include: Implementation of and maintenance of hypertext-based web design using authoring and scripting languages; creating web content; using web
management tools and digital tools; and applying human factors principles to
web design.
The E-Commerce Designer's job
responsibilities include: designing and implementing commerce driven web sites;
identifying customer needs; monitoring customer usage patterns; determining
order processing and services after sales; and considering how e-business
solutions might increase sales.
The successful completion of all 3
exams is necessary to be awarded the CIW Master Designer Certification.

Certified graduates of the E-Commerce Certified Professional
program possess the skills and knowledge critical to designing and building a
complete e-commerce site. Taking advantage of the latest tools and enterprise
deployment technologies, including Intershop, Commerce Server, and XML, they
learn to build shopping cart applications, secure the transmission and orders of
payments, and process credit card transactions. Less rigorous deployment
technologies studied include SalesCart Pro, and Cart32.
Other subject areas studied include: 1) interfacing a product database to a
shopping cart, 2) importing data using SQL 2000, and 3) implementing shopping
baskets using Active Server Pages.
One elective and 3 core courses are required to obtain certification. Core
courses include 1) Building an E-Commerce Web Site, 2)XML- A
Comprehensive Hands on Introduction, and 3) XML for Business to Business
Solutions. The elective course was JavaScript for Web Design and Development. |
